Heat, meditation and breath control

Running to the bus stop, I run with an ease that was a flow. When I stop the sweat starts to pour.

Controlling my breath during Yoga is teaching my body how to utilize air intake more efficiently. Slowing the breath down saves precious energy and promotes a relaxed state. The rhythms I practice in following through a sequence (Vinyasa) is transferred into running, swimming and cycling. It was a revelation when I was in Zone 4 (hard exertion) and my breathing suddenly slowed down but I continue to keep up the pace. Eventually, my heart rate start drop and I can run faster. Mind over matter?

I am am anxious to explore the possibilities of increasing performance.
