I got into the pool today and although I felt the cool water, it didn't feel quite as cold as I expected. I've felt a little disconnected from feelings since the race. There are some emotions coming up but they are somewhat distant and unaccessible. I swam but didn't have much energy.
I chose to get a sports massage to help stretch out muscles in the legs. It hurt in spots to test my limits of pain tolerance. The therapist was very good at adjusting to my feedback. Her skilled hands working locked up muscles and trapped lymphatic tissue loose.
I've started to detoxify. I feel my sinuses starting to swell, throat going sore and chills. It is uncomfortable. It is harder now to climb or descend stairs. The therapist helped me to understand the importance of stretching. I mentioned my practice of Yoga and she said that was very helpful for avoiding injury.
