Utah Valley Marathon 2nd and PR

I woke up early to catch a 3:30 am bus up to the starting gate in Walsburg. We waited in lines in front of the porta potties and as we got closer to the start, many of us started running up into the bushes.

I started the race with Chandler Childs. This was his first Marathon. I was pretty sure he would set a run time faster than me bit it turned out I ran ahead of him and didn't see him again. I finished at 4:00 hours on the clock. I heard his name called 15 minutes later. This was a PR for me!

I was a little disappointed that shirts were handed out after the race finish and that they were coming up short on Small and medium sizes. I wear a large so i was able to get a short and a finisher medal. I was pleased with the results. It was cool and the rain fall actually helped to keepe cool. I was glad to see Kelly, my wife cheer me into the finish. Kandace my daughter finished running her 5k race a few minutes after I did. She ran the race as fast as I did last year when I started running.
