Cross country skiing

I volunteered to help my daughter Amanda's 6th grade class ski trip to Soldiers Hallow resort. Mr Jackman, Amanda's teacher runs a tight classroom. The kids are a good group, I made sure to bring up the rear and to not leave anyone behind.

On the bus ride up I sat next to an ER doctor who listened to my experiences with VO2 testing and interpreting results and training practices. One of the kids Kyle sang at the top of his lungs, and for how loud and long he sang, I wondered if he had a future singing in a rock band!

Many of the kids struggled with the boot bindings and then were upset by falls. I helped kids get back up, and then helped them get back to the lodge. Amanda struggled with the skis and was afraid of falling so she was very cautious. She went to the snow games while I finished a route. I was surprised how much work I was putting in to go up hills and keep myself from going too fast down hills and managing turns. I felt like I was getting a good workout.
