Christmas Vacation workout

This is my second training day on my vacation. I received a stay ball for Christmas. I was excited to start using this big rubber ball to strengthen core muscles and tune balance and coordination. I love the simplicity and that I can play with my girls on it. They love to play "King of the World" on it.

My wife Kelly got a Wii Fit Plus for Christmas. She finally tried it out today and set goals for weight loss and fitness. I created my own account after she was finished. The test results said I was 30 and in great shape. I started with the core strengthening workouts, i.e. jack knife. I completed several Yoga Vinyasas, a few games of balance and the stare at a candle (balance and focus). I enjoyed watching Elena doing the Kung Fu exercises that builds rhythm awareness.

The kids really enjoyed Lego Rock Band. Elena played guitar, Kandace sung vocals and Amanda is an excellent drum player.

We walked for a couple of miles together as the snow fell and our dogs Whitney and Jovi ran around sniffing and running around. I enjoy the time we have together.

I've found some interesting triathlete blogs. I learned of a race on Antelope Island in Salt Lake. It looks like a 20 mile run on New Years Eve. I would love to join this race just for the chance to see this island. I've always wanted to go and explore it. Now I'm just wondering if I'm ready? I've been base training for a couple of months so I can run for an hour at least but to almost run a marathon?
